My Bridge



My bridge doesn't look nothing like my design. Well I think my bridge is not going to do so good. My bridge actually looks like it wasn't finish but it was. And plus i did the bridge by my self. I think if i had a partner it would of had help me so mush, maybe she could of have better ideas. I think the only hard part about building a bridge was that the sticks wooden stay together with that kind of glue. I decided that my bridge is going to go for looks because for sure you can tell is not that strong.

MY LIFE AS A MOTHER




CRUZ GUTIERREZ





Cruz Gutierrez was born and raised in San Diego, California. She is the fifth of six children of Mexican parents. Her parents are from Cuernavaca Morelos, a city in Mexico. Cruz’s three oldest siblings were born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico – Ricardo, Adrian and Julio. After Cruz’s mother had her oldest children, she went to San Diego and gave birth to Perry, Cruz and Margarita the youngest.
Cruz had her daughter Sherlyn at the age of seventeen almost about to turn eighteen. She continued going to Lindsay School after she had her daughter and graduated at the age of eighteen in the year of 2009. She went to San Diego State University and got a degree in child development.
Cruz just got married with her daughter’s father. She recently opened her own child day care at her house. Cruz is expecting her second child. At the age of 10 years old, Sherlyn decided she wanted to be a ballerina so she is now attending ballet classes.

Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the dead





  • WHY IS IT CELEBRATED? It is an example of the harmonious relationship between Christianity and the pre Hispanic traditions found in the state of Oaxaca.


  • WHAT IS THE HISTORY/ORIGINS OF THIS HOLIDAY? The Day of the Dead is traced back to the indigenous people such as the Olmec, Zapotec, Mixtec, Mexican, Aztec, Maya, P'urhepecha, and Totonac.


  • WHEN DOES IT OCCUR? It occurs every year on November 2nd.


  • WHERE ARE THE FESTIVITIES HELD? The festivities are held at cemetery's and at homes.


  • WHAT DO THE ALTARS LOOK LIKE? Is a table with sugar skulls,marigolds, candles pictures, and the favorite food and beverages of the departed.


  • WHAT ARE COMPARSAS? It is a performance representing the return of the dead.


  • WHAT DO PEOPLE DO ON THE DAY OF THE DEAD? Families and friends gather up and pray and remember friends and relatives who have died.


  • OTHER INTERESTING FACTS? The Meso-American culture believes that souls of the people will return that day to be with the living.
